Teaching Practice @ Government Girls Higher Secondary School , Mavelikkara

Fourth week of teaching practice started with our student teachers assembly at high school section of our school.I have presented thought of the day.Tuesday was a normal day and got all the periods according to the time table.Wednesday Professor Bobby Umman Kurian, our physical education sir visited us to evaluate our Yoga lessons , after completing the session he gave us a treat.Thursday there was no classes at our school because the students and teachers went for "Disha programme".On friday classes were conducted till afternoon.After that students and teachers cleaned the whole campus.There were a special ceremoney at the school because we got international status.Our beloved educational minister Sri.Ravindranath ingaurated the ceremoney. I completed 4 lesson plans this week.

Due to equivalency examination Monday's classes were limited till 12.45 pm.In the afternoon session we did some office work.On Tuesday there was PTA meeting for plus one students.On Wednesday morning there was a school assembly and we participated in the assembly.Thursday we trained students on behalf of physical education and yoga after that we participated newly joined teachers party and had the feast they have prepared for us.That was a very good experience.Friday 5 teachers from Peet Memorial Training College visited our school and observed our classes. Due to lack of class availability which is 4 periods a week i couldn't complete a lots of lesson plans.I completed 4 lesson plans this week. For convenience and effective learning i used Power Point Presentations more often. Questioning methods are used often in order to ensure how students learned the topic.

In the second week itself school started eqvallency examinations and class are limited to half day for 6 days.Because of the time limit the period availability got reduced.I usually get a period per day but due to exams the periods limited to 3.There will be assembly conduction in every wednesday and we had participated one of the School assembly.On Wednesday our optional teacher Srimathi.Renjini came to our school and observed our classes and gave instructions inorder to improve our teaching. We conducted a debate completion on Behalf of World Television Day on November 21.We had regular classes on Saturday.

After successfully completing the first phase of Teaching Practice as per B ed curriculum , student teachers of Peet Memorial Training College Mavelikkara assigned for the second phase of Teaching Practice .Students reshuffled and put into different schools for the second phase of teaching practice. A team of 8 students 2 in higher secondary section and 6 in School section were send to Government Girls Higher Secondary School Mavelikkara. Second phase started from November 12th onwards. Meenu Maniyappan and myself were alloted to higher secondary section. In the first day we met with the Principal of the school Srimathi.Pankajakshi Teacher and handed over the attendance register. After that we met with our option teacher Srimathi.Binu Teacher. She gave detailed instruction about the subject and chapters which we have to cover during the teaching phase.
